There’s no place like home

We are already through the first week of 2021. How are you getting on with your resolutions?

According to Yougov, around a fifth of Britons intended to make New Year resolutions for 2021.

The most common resolutions for 2021 are:

  • Doing more exercise and improving fitness
  • Losing weight
  • Improving diet
  • Saving more money
  • Spending more time with my family
  • Pursuing a career ambition
  • Decorating or renovating part of my home
  • Taking up a new hobby
  • Spending less time on social media

But as we are now once again in lockdown, will this have any impact on our ability to maintain our resolutions? Or will it be a factor in us breaking them?

The good news is that we can still succeed with most of the above resolutions from the comfort of our own homes. Let’s take a look.

Improving diet and fitness, and losing weight

During lockdown many of us are having to exercise more at home. So if you have a large kitchen – such as the stunning Stone and Chrome in-frame shaker kitchen pictured below – this could be one potential area to fit in some of those essential online fitness routines. Even better, the large bifold doors open directly out to a lovely garden space, which offers even more potential for exercise as well as fresh air.

If improving your diet and losing weight is your aim for 2021, then a kitchen like this will really help. You will actively enjoy being in this lovely environment, so will be happy to spend time researching and preparing some wonderful healthy meals. Not only that, but this kitchen has an array of stylish yet practical storage facilities, including an integrated Miele fridge and freezer, dry goods pantry, and even a walk in pantry – see if you can spot it in the image below!

Spending more time with your family

It’s often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and when you look at the beautiful Stone and Chrome hand made shaker kitchen pictured below you can understand why.

A kitchen like this is an ideal space to spend time with the family. There is room for everyone to do their own thing, whilst being together. So if you want to eat together, cook together, or all pursue new hobbies in different parts of the same room then this environment works really well. There are separate seating areas around the kitchen, including the feature island – pictured below – which also provides additional storage.

Pursuing a career ambition

More and more of us are having to work from home at the moment, and to do this effectively you need a practical home office. The image below shows an example of a fabulous Stone and Chrome home office. We love the creative vibe of this room, particularly the shelving layout.

As you can imagine, an office like this can really be an effective place in which to work. So, whatever your career ambitions are for 2021, this is a great environment in which to make them happen. This type of home office also has the flexibility for you to do other things, such as pursue hobbies or interact on social media. And the good thing is that you can then shut the door on all that, to get on with the rest of your life with your family.

Decorating or renovating part of your home

Needless to say, if you are planning to decorate or renovate any part of your home in 2021, then Stone and Chrome would love to help you with that. We have already looked at examples of our fabulous kitchens and home offices. But we started off as a bathroom company and are still passionate about creating beautiful and distinctive bathrooms for our discerning customers.

Below is an example of a striking Stone and Chrome master en suite bathroom that we recently installed. Its amazing range of features include a Breeze natural stone freestanding bath from Waters Baths of Ashbourne, a large walk in shower with wet floor, and stunning double Breeze basins.

Whatever your home improvement dreams for 2021, at Stone and Chrome we can make them a reality. So whether you want a new kitchen or bathroom, or perhaps a home office, do get in touch with us at Stone and Chrome. We would love to discuss your ideas and get things moving for you.
