A bathroom designed to feel indulgent, atmospheric and timeless, this project brings together beautifully veined onyx, warm brushed bronze and considered architectural lighting to create a space with a distinctly luxurious feel.

The starting point for the scheme was the striking combination of Ivory and Brown Onyx. Large-format polished Ivory Onyx surfaces flow across the floor, shower and surrounding walls, allowing the natural movement and variation within the stone-effect finish to become part of the design. Rather than introducing another material, a contrasting Brown Onyx was chosen to define the central vanity area, creating a dramatic focal point within the otherwise light and tonal interior.

At its heart sits a bespoke 1200mm wall-mounted basin, completely clad in polished Brown Onyx with an integrated basin. Extending the same material vertically behind it creates a monolithic feature that draws the eye upwards, while the arched mirror and fluted wall lights soften its strong architectural form.

Warm brushed bronze AXOR Citterio C brassware runs throughout the room, carefully chosen to complement the warmth within the onyx rather than compete with it. At the basin, a wall-mounted three-hole mixer keeps the surface beautifully uncluttered, while the freestanding bath is paired with an elegant floor-mounted mixer in the same finish.

The generous walk-in shower was designed to feel almost seamless within the room. An integrated ceiling-mounted overhead shower is joined by a Rainfinity shoulder shower and hand shower, controlled through an AXOR concealed thermostatic module. A long illuminated recess provides practical storage while becoming an architectural feature in its own right.

Lighting was fundamental to the finished scheme. Concealed warm LED lighting traces the ceiling lines, washes across the polished surfaces and illuminates the recessed shelving. As the light catches the movement within the onyx, its character changes throughout the room, bringing depth and warmth to an otherwise restrained palette.

A sculptural white freestanding bath provides a quiet contrast to the surrounding stone, positioned alongside the original leaded windows where natural light can flood into the space. Elsewhere, a matt white wall-hung WC keeps the scheme clean and understated, complemented by a textured brushed bronze flush plate and accessories.

The finishing touch is a tall brushed bronze heated towel rail, echoing the brassware and introducing another warm metallic detail against the pale Ivory Onyx.

The result is a bathroom that balances contemporary detailing with a sense of permanence. Dramatic without being overpowering, and luxurious without relying on excess, every finish has been selected to work together as part of one cohesive palette.

A celebration of stone, light and warm bronze detailing, designed to feel every bit as timeless as it is luxurious.
