4th July is a special day for our American friends. It is the day on which they celebrate the Declaration of Independence, which was adopted on 4 July, 1776. Under this declaration, the then thirteen colonies of America declared themselves as states of America and no longer part of the British Empire.
23rd June is being hailed by some as Independence Day for Britain. As the aftermath of the Brexit vote rumbles on, and the face of British politics seems to change on a daily basis, time alone will tell what long term effects it will have.
The BKU Awards 2016
But for Stone and Chrome, 23rd June was Independence Day for a completely different reason! In our last blog we mentioned that we had reached the finals of the BKU (Bathroom & Kitchen Update ) Awards 2016. The Awards ceremony took place in the stunning environs of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and over 250 members of the industry came together to celebrate the achievements of the past 12 months.
We are delighted to report back that we were Highly Commended in two categories: Bathroom Showroom of the Year and Independent Bathroom Retailer of the Year. The commendation for Independent Bathroom Retailer of the Year was particularly welcome as we are proud to be an independent family business with over 25 years experience and a genuine passion in our work.
