Stone and Chrome is a local company but are continually gaining wider recognition. We were delighted to be featured recently in the April edition of the magazine Kitchens and Bathrooms News – see image on the left. In the article – entitled Set in Stone – we discussed our experiences in bathroom design and in particular our belief in “differentiation by design”.
Also at the moment we are very excited about the fact that next Thursday we are also in the finals of the BKU (Bathroom & Kitchen Update ) Awards 2016. We are finalists in the category Bathroom Showroom of the Year. We will recount our experiences in our next blog!
In our potentially award-winning showroom at the moment we have a stunning range of products! There are not only complete bathrooms to view but also a wide range of bathroom accessories. One of these that we want to bring to your attention today is bathroom mirrors.
Mirrors have been part of human culture for thousands of years. The first man-made mirrors are thought to date back to around 6000BC in Anatolia (Turkey as we know it today) and were composed of polished stone such as black volcanic glass obsidian. Glass mirrors are believed to have been invented at Sidon (modern day Lebanon) in the first century AD.
Since then, mirrors have been used both as practical household items and objects of decoration. Most homes have several mirrors, and indeed they are instrumental in making a house a home.
At Stone and Chrome we know only too well the difference the right mirror can make to your bathroom! Not only does it reflect and radiate light around the bathroom – both of which add warmth and ambience to the room – but it can act as the very centrepiece of the room.
Our Twitter feed has featured some wonderful mirrors recently and we want to share these with you in more detail today. The long light evenings that we experience at this time of year provide an ideal opportunity to select and install a new bathroom mirror, and to enjoy and appreciate the radiant brightening effect it can bring.
Bathroom Origins is an award-winning specialist supplier of fabulous bathroom accessories, mirrors & more. They are a family friendly business with a larger than life personality, a big heart and – like us at Stone and Chrome – a real passion for bathrooms! We love to use their products in our bathrooms. The example below is a stunning mirror that is the perfect shape for a sloped ceiling.
The second example from Bathroom Origins is this beautiful Modena mirror which matches perfectly the drawer of the Rhombus basin vanity unit.
Another supplier we love is Roper Rhodes. Roper Rhodes is one of the UK’s leading independent suppliers of bathroom furniture and bathroom products. One of our current favourite Roper Rhodes products is this beautiful mirror cabinet, shown here with a gorgeous New Light basin and vanity from Catalano.
All the above examples – and many others – are currently on display in our Camberley showroom. The showroom that we are hoping will win us an award on Thursday!
