Make a new bathroom your autumn project!

Summer seems to finally be over and that distinctive autumn nip is in the air.   We are now in that brief lull before the winter festivities start: Halloween, Bonfire night, Thanksgiving and – dare we mention it?! – Christmas.  This is often the time when we feel a little restless, as if we ought to be “doing something”.  Perhaps it’s a throwback to the back to schooldays when at this stage the new term was completely under way and the work piling up accordingly.  But now, autumn is often the time when we need a project!

So this might be an ideal time to start considering a new bathroom.   You have the time to do some research to discover what is out there and decide what would work in the space you have available.   But think big!  It’s easy to fall back on what we are familiar with or what everyone else has.  But why not dare to be that little bit different?

A website that has become tremendously popular for those wanting to gain inspiring ideas about home renovation and design is Houzz.  It is a global platform with country specific sectors, and features wonderful images of distinctive home designs.  Photos can be saved to ‘ideabooks’ by Houzz’s estimated 35 million monthly global users.

If you are looking for some bathroom ideas then why not have a browse through Houzz?   At Stone and Chrome we delighted to feature regularly on the website.   The combination of our years of experience, our state of the art design work, and our use of the best quality natural products has deservedly  won us recognition in the interior design world.

Here are three of our bathrooms that are currently featuring on Houzz

Small luxury wet room

This is definitive proof that size does not matter!  Despite the small space this ensuite shower room is stunning!   It also manages to contain a wall-mounted sink, dark wood cabinets, solid surface worktops, a walk-in shower and wall mounted toilet.  It is tiled in our Premium Italian Botticino Marble and features brassware from Hansgrohe. At Stone and Chrome we specialise in doing the impossible and we achieved it here by creating a bespoke shower door to fit the awkward shape of the room. The shower also features a seat that fits over the staircase below.

Master En-Suite shower room

This beautiful en-suite shower room manages to skilfully combine both traditional and contemporary styles, resulting in a sophisticated and timeless bathroom.   The bespoke oak furniture is painted in Farrow & Ball London Stone and the  wall is painted in Joa’s White. The neutral colours add to the elegance of the room and enhance its sense of space.  Stone and Chrome’s trademark recessed storage and LED lighting add the perfect finishing touch!  There is even an additional storage area below the twin sinks to prevent clutter spoiling the flow of this distinctive bathroom.
