Social Bathrooms!

screen-shot-2016-10-20-at-15-20-41Don’t panic!  Despite the title, we are not suggesting that we all start sharing bathroom time.  We know that most of our discerning customers view their bathrooms as a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle of life:  a little slice of joyful solitude in an otherwise hectic day.

No, we are referring to social media.   Whether you are a fan or a foe, an addict or an abstainer, social media is here to stay!  In our last blog – Make a new bathroom your autumn project – we referred to some of our coverage on the home design site Houzz.   But our digital footprint is much larger than that!  In this article we take a look at some of our digital presence on other major social media sites.

Facebook

Facebook now has over 1.71 billion users worldwide and 1.13 billion of these log onto Facebook daily.   The relative proportion of mobile users of Facebook is increasing; currently 1.57 billion users access Facebook on mobile devices.   So what are some of these people saying about Stone and Chrome?

There has been positive reaction to our recent cover photo of a beautiful traditional master en-suite – pictured below.   This bathroom is tiled in our premium Tempesta D’argento Honed Limestone and painted with Farrow & Ball Inchyra Blue.   It features a freestanding cast iron bath, walk in shower, high level WC and painted basin furniture.

Facebook attracted comments including “God that looks great!” and “I need a bathroom like this!!!” – and also generated enquiries about bathroom fittings!

Twitter

Twitter averages 313 million monthly active users, 82% of which use mobile devices to access Twitter.   Every second there are around 6,000 tweets which equates to over 350,000 tweets per minute, 500 million per day and 200 billion per year.

Stone and Chrome has a regular Twitter presence and our own Twitter feed has recently featured various Perrin and Rowe products supplied and fitted by us.  Below is a composite image of some Perrin and Rowe products that we have used – a couple in the same bathroom as featured on Facebook.  We’re sure you’ll agree they create the perfect blend of elegance and distinction – even down to the black toilet roll!

Pinterest

Pinterest has over 176 million registered users, and has recently passed the milestone of 150 million monthly active users globally.   Pinterest, for the uninitiated, is a site where users can upload and organise images – known as pins – into collections known as pinboards.   It has been described by Jon Kaplan – Head of Global Sales – as more of a discovery site rather than a social network where people “do the things they love, and learn a little bit more about themselves in the process.”

We are delighted to say that one of the things they love is Stone and Chrome!  Our Pinterest page features 60 pins of stunning Stone and Chrome bathrooms.  Images such as the beautiful freestanding bath pictured below now feature on various other pinboards around Pinterest.  Spreading the Stone and Chrome love!

So, Stone and Chrome is out there on social media – and gaining the attention we deserve – but we also pride ourselves on the personal touch.  At our core we are a family business that has been established for over 25 years.  We have a passion – and a well-earned reputation – for creating beautiful bathrooms from natural products.   If you’d like to see more and meet us in person then why not arrange a visit to our Camberley showroom.   We’d love to show you the quality of our workmanship and help you discover some  new ideas and inspiration for the bathroom you’ve always dreamed of.
